Advent Devotional 2020

Advent 2020 begins Sunday, November29. As we come to the end of 2020, Advent Reflections: Let the Weary World Rejoice! can be a much-needed resource for those who are weary entering this holiday season.

The thing about Advent is that it is very hopeful. I think in 2020, we could all use a little hope. Advent is a time of anticipation. It’s a four-week journey of ever-increasing hope that our waiting, our arduous journey, and our longing is worth it. In fact, it is more than we could expect! Certainly the journey changes us (which always makes journeys worthwhile), but then at the end of the Advent we discover, much to our delight, we encounter the God who is with us. And come to find out, He has been with us all along.

Advent opens our eyes to the with-God journey when we have focused on lesser things.

I hope you will join me as we make space in our crowded hearts for the coming of Jesus: not just a one-time event as a child so long ago, but how his coming invades our lives everyday if we have eyes to see.

If you are looking for a daily Advent devotional this season, check out my ebook Advent Reflections: Let the Weary World Rejoice.

Advent Reflection offers a daily scripture, devotional, and reflection questions. It is my hope that in the midst of our frenzied lives I hope this tool allows you to pause and pay attention to the places where God is near…and, somehow in the midst of the hustle and bustle, may your weary soul rejoice!
